2021 Spirit Pre-Auditions

Thank you for your interest in applying to the 2021 Spirit & Junior Spirit of Fiesta Pre-Audition.

We will continue to put your health and safety first and to that end, we will be following strict Covid-19 protocols.  Please read these instructions and the application carefully. You may want to also print this page for reference.  Pre-auditions will be held at the Center Stage Theatre, 751 Paseo Nuevo in Santa Barbara, CA.  

La Presidenta, Stephanie Petlow, OSD Board of Directors, and the Spirit Committee are excited for all eligible dancers to audition on Saturday, January 9, 2021. 

• The 2021 Jr. Spirit & Spirit Pre-Audition application will be a mostly electronic process. 

  1. Please open the application packet and print out the application documents. Fill in and sign all required areas then scan the pages or take a picture of the complete application packet and email it to [email protected].

  2. On the day of the audition, please bring your birth certificate and application fee of $25.00 (check made out to OLD SPANISH DAYS or cash) with you to the Pre-audition.  You can also pay your application fee online here. 

  3. This year we are setting up appointment times for the Pre-auditions. This is a mandatory protocol due to COVID -19. Once the Spirit Committee receives your full application, we will contact you to select a time slot for your audition. Those who turn in their application earlier will have a better choice of time slots. 

  4. The time slot that is assigned to each participant means that's the time you are to be ready to take the stage. We ask that you allow at least 10-15 minutes to arrive, check-in, and turn in the fee, birth certificate, and fill out a COVID waiver.

  5. Everyone is required to wear a mask and maintain a 6-foot physical distance from others. Participants may remove their mask during the audition then put the mask on again after they dance.  Dancers must leave the facility immediately.

  6. One parent can escort their dancer to the Pre-audition. We need to be as careful as possible due to the fact that we may still be in the purple tier and social distancing is required for everyone. Only the participant will be allowed in the venue to audition while the parent waits in another area or outside.
