Sean T. Malis joined Old Spanish Days in 2017. He is a Director and Division Chief of Marketplaces/Mercados. Sean’s responsibilities include serving as the Co-chair of the Mercado de la Guerra committee, member of the Governance and History and Archiving committees, and has active roles in Fiesta Pequeña and Horseman’s Rendezvous. Sean joined Old Spanish Days to serve his community and celebrate his family’s history and traditions. Sean was born and raised in Santa Barbara, he served in the U.S. Army for 34 years, and he is currently serving as a junior high school science and social studies teacher. He is married with a blended family of five children and two dogs. He enjoys travel, camping, hiking, and volunteering for California State Parks.
